Asbestos is a natural mineral that was widely used in the construction industry for its fire-resistant and insulating properties. Unfortunately, the use of asbestos was so widespread that it is still found in many buildings today. It is considered dangerous because when it is disturbed, it releases tiny fibres that can be breathed in and can cause serious lung problems.
