Asbestos can be found in a number of different materials that were commonly used in building construction before the 1990s, including insulation, fireproofing, and soundproofing. Under current UK legislation, all commercial buildings must have an asbestos survey carried out to identify any asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) that are present.
