When asbestos-containing materials are disturbed or damaged, tiny asbestos fibres are released into the air. These can be inhaled by anyone nearby, and over time, they can cause irreversible damage to your health.

Asbestos surveys are vital to identify any ACMs in a building and to manage the risks effectively. There are three main types of asbestos surveys:

• Asbestos Management Surveys: These are essential for identifying any ACMs that are likely to be disturbed during normal occupancy and use of a building.
• Refurbishment or Demolition Surveys: These are required before any refurbishment or demolition work is carried out to identify any ACMs that could be disturbed during the work.
• Re-inspection Surveys: These are repeat surveys carried out at regular intervals to check for any changes in the condition of ACMs.
