2. Refurbishment and Demolition Asbestos Survey: this survey is more comprehensive and is conducted before any demolition or refurbishment works are done on a building. It involves a thorough inspection of the building to identify all ACMs and determine their condition, so that measures can be taken to ensure the safety of the workers and occupants.

In both types of surveys, the surveyor will collect samples of suspected ACMs, which will be sent to a laboratory for testing. The results of the tests will determine the type and condition of the asbestos-containing materials, as well as the level of risk they pose to human health.
