There are two main types of asbestos surveys:

A management survey is a visual assessment of the building and any accessible materials, and typically involves taking samples for laboratory testing.

• Refurbishment/Demolition Survey: This type of survey is necessary before any refurbishment, demolition, or major refurbishment works occur. It aims to identify all ACMs within the building, including those that may be concealed behind walls or other structures. A refurbishment/demolition survey is more intrusive and involves taking samples from all areas of the building.
